The  latest feature that our county added to Go Guadian is the ability to  "Call a student " .  When you are on the tab where you would message them, there is a call button.  It has just recently been activated.  When you push the call button the student has the option to answer.  This allows you to a verbally speak to a student in a meet individually intead of having to type in the Go Guardian chat box.  You can still see the other students because you didn't leave to go to a break out room.  You just have to mute yourself on the meet, so the other students don't hear your individual conversation.  You can even share your screen to show something in that call.    Great addition and very helpful!

The Starting Point

       As I prepared for my first year of being an official virtual teacher in our school system's new virtual school, I thought of ways that I can prepare my students for the future, not just academically, but also in equipping them for the innovative society in which we live today. With technology at the forefront of our program, what ways could I utilize technology to teach and enhance their academic growth, yet still make it manageable and age-appropriate?      I personally had never blogged before, but knew that I wanted my students to create their own blogs imbedded into their digital portfolios.  That meant that I needed to play around with it myself so I could also model for them the expectation.
